Hi, I’m Katiy and I’m from Saint Joseph, Missouri: home of the Pony Express, Cherry Mash, and Jesse James Museum (to name but a few).
I am the author of FOCUS GROUP ARCHIVES, a column at Catapult Magazine. My essays and stories have been nominated for Best Small Fictions, Best of the Net, selected as a contest semi-finalist by American Short Fiction, and a finalist for The Southampton Review Nonfiction Prize. I received a Bachelors in Journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College, where I also worked as the Managing Editor of the program’s literary journal, LUMINA. I recently was a fiction reader for The Drift.
My writing has been supported by Millay Arts, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA), and NES Artist Residency in Skagaströnd, Iceland.
